Looking Forward! (sunsets & werewolves)

Good Evening, Sweet Baby,

I am excited about your news, and also very curious to see what song you'll be recording! Are you gonna wait until it's all done to announce it? Maybe you can give a hint in the meantime.  :)

I think it's great and I am glad you are keeping a hand in your music. Good for Johan, too.

I was up at Aliso Canyon for a while this afternoon, hiked the full length of the trail, 1.5 miles each way. In a while I will go out and look for more sunset pictures. I figure that as long as we are having this monsoon weather, I might as well take advantage of it. It was hot on my hike, but then the temperature dropped all of a sudden by about 20 degrees, and clouds came in and the wind blew, like it was gonna rain. I hope it goes back to being nice, cause I wanna finally take my train trip Downtown tomorrow. I will check weather.com later tonight.

Well, I have just enough time before sunset to watch another werewolf movie from the Legacy Collection, so I will start now. This time it's "She-Wolf Of London", from 1946. I'm scared already!  :)

I will be around most of the night, except for my sunset walk, and I will write more later.

I Love You. Can't wait to see your video!  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

1:15am : There's Late Night, Super Late Night, and Super Duper Late Night - this qualifies as the latter. Sorry about that, my Darling, but the more days I have off, the more I revert to Adam Hours, lol. I did have a nice walk, and got more good sunset pics for the third day in a row. My photo teacher is gonna kill me! Good thing I haven't seen him in 38 years........ :)

Truly, though, he was one of those teachers who really had a major effect on my life. Even if he didn't like sunset pics.

Tonight's werewolf movie was very good - excellent in it's sets and production design, and some of it, the scenes in a desolate park, look as if they could have been shot at Corriganville or someplace similar, in the Valley or nearby. Remember the movie business maxim, for location shooting : "Never drive any further than you have to". In other words, if you can make the Valley look like England, go for it. And Universal Studios is right here in the Valley.....

Anyhow, it was a good flick, but.............spoiler alert!.........

There wasn't an actual werewolf in the film. It was more of a psychological premise; June Lockhart thinks she's a werewolf because of a long standing family curse. But in reality, she's being framed.

I wish they made a dozen of these Universal Studios Wolf Man movies! I could watch 'em day after day.

Well, Sweet Baby, I hope you had a good day. You don't post much lately. I know you are excited about your video, though, and busy too.

See you in the morning. I Love You.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

Monday Hello (late night love)

Good Evening, my Darling,

I'm just hanging out at home and wanted to say hi. It's still super hot and muggy outside, so I will go for most of my walk later, and will do a little bit in about an hour so I can check for more good sunsets. I hope you are having a nice day. You are probably busy with projects, though I saw your one post for your friend's band that got signed. I liked the name of their label : "Progress Productions" - very progressive, of course!

I hope things are going well of late. I will probably watch another movie at some point during the evening. Right now, I'm just gonna hang out til sundown. I'll write more later.

I Love You.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

12:30am : Hi, Elizabeth. Happy Late Night. I getting started a little later again. Tried to make the most of my night, so I went out and took more sunset pictures, then came back and watched a movie : "Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man" from 1943. Yes, I'm on a serious Wolf Man kick at the moment! :) I realised that I'd never seen the original all the way through, because it used to scare the heck out of me when I was a little kid, and whenever it was on TV, I'd turn it off when Lon Chaney started to turn into a werewolf. So, I a couple weeks ago I knew it was finally time to watch it, so I ordered the Universal Pictures "Legacy Collection" disc set of Wolfman pictures. I've seen two and still have two to go. In tonight's movie, Lon Chaney rescued Frankenstein out of a block of ice, but then - spoiler alert!.......

he winds up killing Frankenstein when he turns into The Wolfman at the end of the movie. So The Wolfman can take Frankenstein! Who knew?

It actually has a lot more plot than that, and the old Universal monster pictures have atmosphere galore. They really are classics, and you may remember that when I first went to Corriganville in Fall 2013, seeing the drained concrete pond there got me interested in seeing the series of "Creature From The Black Lagoon" movies, which are also in a Universal "Legacy" collection. And now I'm doing The Wolfman.

I think he scared me more than just about any other monster as a kid.  :)

Well, I'll post now cause it's late. You are probably asleep so I send you instant Sweet Dreams to reach you immediately.

See you in the morning.  I Love You.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

Sunday Evening Love (rock n roll)

Good Evening, my Darling,

I am home and off work until Thursday afternoon. Just chillin' right now. We have some monsoon weather happening, coming off the Pacific Ocean, so it's super hot and ultra muggy. We never get monsoons here, lol, just the aftermath weather, but it sometimes makes for nice sunsets so I'll take my camera along on my walk in a little while. I think my friend Ono might be coming with.

I hope you had a nice day, and I hope your photo shoot went well, if indeed you did have a shoot (I think you said you were gonna).

I have already watched one movie today - "The Wolf Man" from 1941 - so maybe later I will watch another. I will also write more later on, no later than the usual time. For now, I'll be here till about 7:30. Enjoy your evening!

I Love You.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

12:25am : Happy Super Late Night, my Baby. Sorry about the late hour, I was with Ono for a while, then went for my walk, watched a "Breaking Bad" - you know I always revert to my own natural hours whenever I have days off. I guess you were busy today anyway, and I hope all went well.

We did get an awesome sunset, just as I predicted. It's almost impossible to reproduce in a photo, but you've gotta snap it anyway, lol. As you know, my high school photo teacher would not have approved!

Well, it was quite a surprise, and a bad one at that, to hear of Chris Squire's passing this morning. I got a text while in church, figured it was for something innocuous and didn't check it until later. Then I was shocked, even though it was reported a couple weeks ago that he had leukemia.

I know you know who Yes are, pretty sure you've probably heard at least a couple of their songs. For people my age who were fans in the 70s, it's really hard to overstate the impact Yes had on our ongoing musical experience and education. It's hard to be original in music, to sound like no one else, but those guys did it, and Chris Squire was one of the main reasons or maybe even the main one. Not just for his bass playing and his backup singing, but for his musical vision. Today was quite a day, to lose a guy of Chris Squire's stature, but we are at an age now when we are indeed losing some of the guys who were so young when they were making all that great music, and because it's rock n' roll, I guess we never think of them as old, even though some are now heading into their 70s.

At any rate, here's to Chris Squire, one of the greatest musicians in the history of rock. And here's to the art school tradition in England that produced so many incredibly creative musicians in our lifetimes.

That's all I know for today. I hope you had a great day and I will see you in the morning. Sweet Dreams.

I Love You.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

Love & Sweet Dreams

Happy Late Night, my Darling,

Just to check in and wish you Sweet Dreams. Nothing really to report today, just a typical Saturday. I hope your day was good. After church tomorrow I will be off until Thursday afternoon, so that will be nice. Hope all projects are coming along well. :)

Sleep well, and I will see you in the morning. I Love You.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

Saw Your Post, Don't Worry (Friday Night Love) (explanation)

Good Morning, my Darling,

Well, you know I don't usually post this early, so it must be important, and it is. I just saw your post, of Tristan Kang. Wow! That is a very direct message from you, at least it sure seems to be. All I can say for now is no worries. I have to leave in a couple minutes to drive out to my sister Sophie's place to take her shopping, but I will write more as soon as I can, maybe later this afternoon.

I asked if it was too weird for you, and if it is, I won't write it. But I will try to explain more fully later on. In any case, please don't worry and have a great afternoon.

You know I love you and everything is good.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

10:45pm : Good Evening, my Darling. I am still getting situated at Pearl's, so I will write more at the usual time, but I just wanted to check in to say hi and see how your day was. Mine was busy, mostly with my sister. One nice thing - really great actually - is that she isn't in the convalescent hospital anymore. She lived there for the last five years, but recently her social worker found her a spot in a private assisted living facility, and it's a house! These small facilities are simply converted houses, and so Sophie now lives in a very nice house with five other clients (i.e. patients). Two ladies run the place, do all the cooking, everything. So it is quiet and clean, and even though her convalescent hospital was a nice place (as those places go), it was still a hospital environment, and so this is a night-and-day difference, really fantastic. It's also closer to me, in Burbank, which is next to Glendale but this new place is about 5 miles closer and right off the freeway.

I took her shopping, then got home at 2pm and just relaxed, cause it was hot out.

I hope your day was good. I will write more once I get situated here, but I won't write any weird stories tonight, so don't worry. I do wanna say a few things about all of that, though, so I will when I come back. Nothing heavy, so again, don't worry.

Back in a few at the usual time. I Love You.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

Midnight : Okay, I am back. I just wanted to address your post from this morning. I know it wasn't your own words, and that you were just trying to convey how those stories make you feel, but the message basically said that (I paraphrase) "it sucks when lousy memories ruin good music" and that it "caused the person (the poster) anxiety". Because I had asked you to tell me if my stories were bothering you, or were too weird, I took that post to mean that you don't like the stories about what happened to me, and that, possibly, they cause you anxiety.

I don't know if you read a lot of my back-catalogue blogs in the Myspace days, but I am guessing you did, because all I have written in the past couple days are just two or three very short pieces about hypnotic states and a helicopter crash. Weird, to be sure, but taken all by themselves, hardly enough to cause such a strong reaction on your part. I deliberately talked around the subjects rather then address them directly for that very reason, so as not to cause a reaction.

You have obviously seen the list of books I have on FB, so you know I am an avid researcher of (for want of a better term) "alternative" theories on subjects such as 9/11, the Kennedy assassination, et al. So you have known from the get-go what some of my interests are. Elizabeth, I have a lot of interests. Music, obviously, is and has always been one of my main interests. Film too, and photography. I like regular stuff, regular life (though specific to my tastes), and my range of interests is as big as life has to offer.

But when I was 33, I discovered that my life was not as normal as I thought it was. And that is something I have to live with, every day.

I have no one to discuss it with, not even my family members. My parents were my best friends, but they are gone. What happened to me is a taboo subject. No one will talk about it; consequently, I have to just talk about it - or think about it - to myself.

That is not easy, after 22 years.

What happened to me was not on the news. It was never told to me, in the way an accident victim might me told in the hospital what has happened to him.

It was simply done away with, through technological means I have tried to describe, and then I was left to pick up the pieces, and to simply suck it up when I finally remembered what happened to me.

I have had no recourse whatsoever.

If you were to talk to, say, the parents of a missing child, or someone related to an unsolved cold-case murder, you would discover that the search for truth never ends for such people, unless they are fortunate enough to uncover that truth, and thus to find closure.

I won't go on and on any further tonight, except to say that it's not easy.

I can offer an analogy, and it's not the best analogy, but it describes the general feeling of weirdness that is attached to a series of very real violent crimes that were perpetrated against me, and also in one one incident my Mom and Dad, in 1989. Please remember that the weirdness stems from some of the people involved, and from the technology used, and from the amnesia factor. And people focus on that. But what is important to keep in mind is the violence. I was a victim of severe violence in September 1989, to the point where, when I really consider it, it's amazing that I lived through it. And had I suffered through that violence in a "normal" context, I'd have been on the news, and had therapy, and had my story told, and I suppose I'd be right where I am today, more or less, except that I'd have had some form of closure, to allow me a return to some level of normality.  But what happened to me was anything but normal, and what was substituted for closure was induced amnesia, and so the Weirdness Factor is what takes precedent, and thus, it scares the heck out of everybody I know who even has an inkling of what happened, and the truth is that most of my friends, and my sister Vickie and brother Chris, know much more than they will ever say. I hate to use the term "cowards", but it applies in many instances, for the people I know.

My own family would rather walk away instead of talk about it. And my friends have convinced themselves that it was "just a dream", and that is because they participated, and thus want no part of the truth.

So all I have is myself. And I will keep it to myself, at least here at the blog. I have written FOIA requests from time to time, but they (surprise, surprise) never turn up anything.

Anyway, here is my analogy : Imagine one day that you woke up and realised you'd been to the Moon. I don't mean that you dreamed it, or hallucinated it, or imagined it, but that you knew it. And you knew other people knew it, too, because they'd been with you. But it was a weird experience, and it scared them, and they didn't want to talk about it. Then imagine that you yourself only remembered it years after the fact, and not in it's entirety.

And yet, you knew it had happened.

You would wonder why you went there, how you went there, what happened there, and what it all meant. And you would be so curious that it would become part of your life. And you would want to tell somebody, to talk about it.

So that's all I wanted to say, and don't worry, because I understand entirely your point of view on the subject. I won't bring it up again here at the blog. I just wanted to explain my side, is all.

Thanks for reading, and you know I Love You. I'll go back to regular blogs; everything is good.

For now, Sweet Dreams and I will see you in the morning.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

Late Night Love & Weirdness

Happy Late Night, my Darling,

I hope you had a nice day. FB has been acting funny all day - the newsfeed doesn't scroll and only shows a few posts at a time. I'm talking about the sidebar newsfeed, the one that says "so-and-so likes such-and-such" or "so-and-so shared a link". That's the one I use to find your posts, ever since the Close Friends feature stopped showing them, except today, the newsfeed didn't work either. Anyhow, if you posted I'm afraid I didn't see it. Of course, you are probably busy with Summer stuff and projects, too.  :)

I hope the Weird Stuff I posted wasn't too weird for you. I know a lot of it sounds pretty "out there", but really what I wrote so far wasn't too far out I don't think. I'm just musing about stuff, and rather than re-write what happened to me, or focus on the details, I'm just "thinking out loud" (i.e. writing about) questions that I have built up as I have considered the whole thing. It was an event that lasted many days, perhaps close to two weeks - not continuous but on-and-off - and because I had amnesia, and my memory is still fragmented, I wonder about practical things, like where did I sleep? Was I at home some of the time? Did I eat? Obviously I must have eaten, slept, etc.

Today I drove over to a site called the Wilbur Wash, which is an offshoot concrete-channel "tributary" of the larger concrete channel L.A. River. The section of the Wash I am talking about is located at the intersection of Wilbur and Valerio Streets in Reseda (Google Map it!), about a mile and a half from Pearl's. My memory tells me, since 1997, that a truly unusual event took place there, of which I wrote about in my book.

This is definitely Weird Stuff, but it's also real, and it involves special ops military and technology. But the reason I drove over to the Wash was to see if a helicopter could fly there, or hover there, because there are electrical towers that span the Wash, and they hold up the high tension wires that provide electricity to that area of the Valley.

Looking at the landscape, and the high tension wires, I concluded that - yes - there was room for a helicopter.

I am interested in how the military - special ops military - secures a site where a Top Secret incident has taken place. At Roswell, for instance, the story goes that a special team got out there very quickly after a rancher reported seeing the crash. But at Roswell, and at other sites of crashes of different kinds of aircraft - including Stealth when it was still classified - the incidents usually happened in remote areas, where it would be somewhat easy for a military team to create a perimeter, secure the site, clean it up and maintain secrecy.

But I have wondered how such a team would be able to secure a site in a suburban neighborhood, on a street lined with houses. If a helicopter crashed, near a Wash, and there were houses nearby, you would think such an event - noisy and shocking, and scary - would draw a crowd, even if it happened late in the evening.

I know that a perimeter could still be created to minimize the crowd. Such a tactic is used at everyday crime scenes. But how would you keep immediate looky-loos away, or keep them from talking, if the crash was part of a secretive or classified event? How would you keep news helicopters away? Indeed - how would you keep the local police department away, in this case the mighty L.A.P.D. , the world's most famous police force?

Well, the answer is that you could do it - if you were with the Federal Government. Because they supercede everybody. And there are entities within the Federal Government that even supercede the Federal Government.

At any rate, you could cover up such a crash, though I suppose it would not be easy.

But basically, I think that if you order people not to talk about something, they will probably obey. And after time passes, the incident fades, no matter how weird it is. It fades on the outside - as an urge to speak about it - but on the inside it remains, perhaps relegated to the realm of dreams.

That is how people can "forget" reality. By pretending that something didn't happen. Because it was horrible, and shocking - nightmarish - and because they were ordered never to talk about it. And so it became a dream, and didn't "really" happen.

I know it's weird, my Baby, but just bear with me a bit. I am just writing about it because I have only myself to bounce thoughts off of; nobody else will touch this with a ten foot pole.

But I will write just to muse about it, in a roundabout way, and therefore keep things to-the-point, like a detective would.

That's all for tonight. If it's too weird, just say so! But it's part of my life, so I tell it.  :)

I Love You and send you Sweet Dreams.  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo  :):)

Late Night Love & Weird Stuff

Happy Late Night, my Darling,

I hope you had a nice day. Mine was routine (of course, lol), but busy. Still very hot here, and when I left to drive up to Trader Joe's at around 2pm, I noticed a ton of smoke coming from near the Mission Point area. That's the local mountain I hiked up to the top of last year. There was a brush fire, and it turned out to be on the other side of the mountain, in Santa Clarita, near the Towsley Canyon park that I also hiked a few times. It was about a mile or so from my very favorite trail - Rice Canyon, and I am glad that they put it out fairly quickly. It took over 200 firefighters and a couple helicopters! So that was the big deal for the day.

As for my new project, I will just write in short bursts here and there, because I just don't have the time I used to have to write at length. And when I do have time, I am often tired, due to the nature of the nighttime sleeping situation here at Pearl's. We have her taking Melatonin now, so hopefully that will help. In the old days, I used to walk over to the Oviatt totally focused, and just start in. In re-reading my book, I can hardly believe I held all that information in my head, but I did, and I was able to get it all out, and onto paper.

I have a million questions about what happened to me, but even so I understand a lot of it. It has taken me many, many years to come to this point. It's funny, because the mid-80s I had little to no interest in any of this stuff - secret military operations, air force bases, underground bases, memories, missing time, et al. If you look at my "books" listed on FB, you know I read about a lot of alternative stuff, what the average person would call "conspiracy" books. But the average person has no idea - literally - what goes on in the world.

I never did. In the 80s, I was vehemently against Reagan, and I thought communism was cool, but that was the extent of it. I was very, very political, but on a surface level. I had no idea that there was a "behind-the-scenes", let alone having any information about it. As for aliens and UFOs, I saw "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" in 1977 and thought it was a great movie. But that was it.

Before 1989, and really before the mid-90s, my reading consisted mostly of fiction, my favorites being of course Stephen King and other horror writers. I read a lot of true crime, books about serial killers and that kind of stuff. I really should have been a detective, lol.

But in October 1993, my life changed, because one day, without trying to, I recovered a memory. Now, I don't like to use that term because is has a lot of negative connotations due to some phony-baloney psychologists who have written books about the "falsehood" of recovered memory. The phenomenon was much in the news in the late 80s and early 90s, and often dealt with adults who had recalled buried memories of child abuse, that often was associated with Satanic cults and things of that nature. I am not a fan of a lot of psychologists, because like any discipline (even something like music) there are good practitioners and downright lousy (even phony) ones. I know that, on the other end, there are a lot of phony-baloney people who make claims about things, claims of child abuse, of alien abductions, you name it. So there are charlatans on both ends, and I stay out of those things. You know me, and you know that I am not a joiner of groups, nor am I easily succeptible to belief. Everything in my life - everything - is run through a psychic filter. I get a feel for things, and I get a feel for truth. Once I get a feel, then I run it down with a ton of information, by reading mostly. At any rate, suffice to say that, post 1993, my reading habits changed, and at that point I wanted to know as much about what I will call "buried" subjects as I could get my hands on.

Subjects that nobody wanted to talk about.

One of the first subjects I delved into was MK Ultra, the now fairly famous (or infamous!) CIA program that was run mostly in the 1950s, that involved all kinds of mind control. That term has become a cliche, but there was really a lot of science behind it, science involving the study of the lobes of the brain, and which functions were controlled in a given area. That science, purely evil in my opinion, was pioneered in Nazi Germany, and after the war many Nazi scientists were surreptitously brought over here to America, lest the Soviets get them. The CIA was also formed right after the war, in 1947, and that was when a lot of really sinister research began in this country. It is also when the UFO phenomenon began.

Because this is a "short burst" of writing tonight, what I am interested in at the moment, concerning my own life, is studying the different states of consciousness, between waking and sleep. A normal person, on a normal day, experiences basically those two states, with perhaps brief spells of what are called "alpha" or hypnogogic states in between wakefulness and sleep, and even more powerfully, between the end of sleep and waking up in the morning. That is when many dreams occur.

But just as there are those "normal" or day-to-day states of hypnogogia, ones experienced by most people, there are also other forms of hypnogogic or altered consciousness. One of them is "state of shock", which can be experienced in full wakefulness by a person under extreme stress, such as a soldier on a battlefield. The Nazis - and the scientists at work for the CIA during MK Ultra - also discovered that this stress could be artificially created, and that sections of the brain could be manipulated, through the use of drugs and hypnosis, to produce a hypnogogic state in a subject, in a state of full wakefulness.

In this way, a subject could be manipulated to do things while in that state, and, having done them, could then be brought out of the state with no memory of what he had done. That is the story of Sirhan Sirhan and the Robert F. Kennedy assassination. Mind control, then, is not a cliche but a very real and ultra-sinister science, utilised by people who wish to control things, control governments, world affairs, etc.

A form of mind control is to cause a person to forget that a section of their life has taken place. This section cannot be too long, or the deception won't work, but at any rate, the phenomenon is known as missing time.

This is what I experienced, although I wasn't aware of it. I also experienced amnesia, though I wasn't aware of that, either, until four years after the fact.

That is what I will be exploring at first, just questions involving memory, not just for myself, but as to how an event like mine can go unacknowledged for 26 years, without a single person ever having mentioned it besides myself. I am interested in how a known event, such as Roswell, was covered up in the first place, being as there must have been at least 25 to 50 people in that town who witnessed, knew about, or had heard about what had happened there in July 1947.

Ditto Northridge in September 1989, though what happened here isn't strictly a UFO story. There were many witnesses, however, and I am wondering how they've all kept silent for all these years, and that is a topic I will perhaps explore in my next short burst of writing.

Tonight the hour is late, so I will post now.

I Love You, Elizabeth! Thanks for reading, and I will now send you Sweet Dreams and see you in the morn.
